What’s next for our amazing egg collection?
Back in December, we told you about the Tomkinson Collection – one of the most scientifically valuable collections of eggs in the world. We donated it to the Natural History Museum, where their expert Douglas Russell has been taking a closer look…
Douglas is the museum’s Senior Curator of Birds’ Eggs and Nests, and he’s written a blog post about the new additions. He says that – from a researcher’s point of view – it’s the detailed records and photographs that make the collection so important, with clues on everything from species distribution to climate change.
